Aircraft interiors EXPO: ‘The Eagle’ has landed

Driessen Aerospace Group is launching a new and improved ultra lightweight galley cart.

‘The Eagle’, which is second generation, is part aluminium and part composite and has been redesigned following involvement by airline crew in testing the prototype.

“We launched the first cart a couple of years ago but after crew feedback we decided to improve on it.  The locking system is now located at the top, much easier for crew to handle, there is now a soft touch handle and the cooling properties have improved. Other features we have improved on are the kick plate and flip over table. All of which also make ‘The Eagle’ a more attractive cart,” says sales and marketing director Michiel Maris.

The ergonomic durable cart has also reduced in weight from 19kg to 15kg and is fully repairable.

“What is also key is that we are able to supply a full range of carts. Most manufacturers only offer a full size ultra lightweight cart whereas we also offer a half size cart and waste cart, and ensure they are affordable to our customers. Importantly, we now have the appreciation from crew too,” says Maris.
