Boeing rolled out the 777 Freighter as scheduled on 21 May at its plant in Everett, Washington. An abbreviated flight-test phase, which can lean heavily on accumulated experience from the 777 family, is to begin in June. The General Electric GE90-powered twinjet, which is derived from the 777-200LR passenger model, has kept to schedule despite delays in the 787 programme preventing engineers and other resources from being released for other projects. Delivery to launch customer Air France is scheduled by year-end. Total orders stand at 78 from 11 customers.
