ILA 2008: Eurocopter celebrates record year at ILA

The Franco-German helicopter manufacturer Eurocopter  is using ILA to highlight its international market strength and commitment to innovation by displaying its latest state-of-the-art helicopters, and highlighting its MRO capabilities and by participating in ILA’s ‘Rotor & Rescue’ helicopter conference programme.

When the company disclosed its 2007 financial results in January, the Franco-German helicopter manufacturer revealed its best ever sales figures, with 802 orders booked, totalling €6.58 billion (US $9.5 billion), and with a €4 Bn turnover last year.

Eurocopter helicopters on show include the Tiger attack helicopter, the NH90 tactical transport helicopter, and an Armée de l’Air EC725 Combat Search And Rescue aircraft, as well as civil EC120, EC130 and EC135 helicopters.

Established in 1992 by merging the helicopter businesses of France’s Aerospatiale and Germany’s MBB, the Franco-German-Spanish Eurocopter Group today claims to be the world’s leading helicopter manufacturer in the civil and parapublic markets (with a claimed market share of 53%), offering the largest civil and military helicopter range in the world.
