Fanwing has made its first UK public event flight, flying on the practice days for the ParcAberporth Unmanned Systems show in June.
The electrically powered 6kg (13.2lb) 1.6m (5.2ft) rotorspan UAV uses a bladed rotor turning on a horizontal axis, which acts like a thick, high-lift wing. This gives it a short take-off and landing capability.
Recent improvements include rotor changes to reduce noise levels.
The ParcAberporth flight model and a video of the flight will be shown on the Fanwing stand (Hall 4, E13).
