The second prototype of Carter Aviation Technologies will be finished by the end of the year and will be powered by a Lycoming IO 540.
Officials will speak today on their progress to use elements of rotorcraft and fixed-wing aerodynamics to attain 180 mph at 7,500 ft, and 242 mph at 20,000 feet with a twin turbocharged TIO 540 upgrade. Lycoming and Blue Mountain Avionics are adapting their systems to the prototype at no cost and numerous suppliers are offering parts for free or for reduced costs.
