Austrian charter operator Avcon Jet is opening a branch in Manama, Bahrain, where it will base this newly acquired Bombardier Challenger 300. Avcon has also entered a partnership with Mena Aerospace subsidiary MAE Jet Charters, also in Bahrain, to develop business in the region. Chief executive Alexander Vagacs says Avcon intends to expand its Middle East fleet. The company operates in Europe, Russia and the USA with 10 small- and mid-cabin jets a second Challenger 300 is due for delivery in December.
