Meggitt has clinched a multi-million dollar contract from Embraer to supply parts for the new mid-light Legacy 450 and mid-size Legacy 500 business jets.
Meggitt Fluid Controls will develop and produce the pneumatic bleed air system, while Meggit Aircraft Braking Systems will provide the wheel, carbon brake, and brake control systems. MABS is already a long-standing Embraer partner supplying parts for the Phenom 100 and 300 business jet programmes and with Liebherr-Aerospace for the Embraer 170/175 and 190/195 regional jets and the Lineage 1000 ultra-large business jet.
Embraer has received letters of intent for more than 100 Legacy 450 and 500s to date. The aircraft are scheduled for service entry in the second half of 2012 and 2013 respectively.
