Embraer today announced making the first delivery of a Phenom 100 jet on Christmas Eve to Jim and Betsy Frost, of Houston, Texas.

The milestone comes about 30 months after Embraer launched the new family of Phenom business jets, and only about three weeks after achieving civil certification for the Phenom 100 type.

“This is what we have been working towards, since May 2005, when we launched the Phenom 100,” said Luis Carlos Affonso, Embraer executive VP, executive jets, in a statement.

The Phenom 100 has obtained both Brazilian ANAC and US FAA airworthiness certification.
