India's Kingfisher Airlines expects to roll out several new international services over the next three months.

The carrier's spokesman tells ATI that "the new services should be launched within the next 90 days".

Destinations the carrier is looking at include Bangkok, Dhaka, Dubai, Hong Kong, Kuala Lumpur and Singapore, he says.

Kingfisher launched international services in September with flights to London Heathrow but it said soon afterwards that it had temporarily shelved plans for a further expansion of international services as a result of the global economic downturn.

However the Indian Government later awarded it new international operating rights and it reportedly must exercise these rights soon or lose them for an extended period of time.

Earlier this week Kingfisher added Colombo in Sri Lanka as its second international destination. It had also already started selling tickets for services to Hong Kong and Singapore from this month as well as for services to Dubai from early next month but has pushed back these launches.

The spokesman says Hong Kong and Singapore launches were deferred "because of an issue with the software on the in-flight entertainment system" on its new Airbus A330s.

"It is only a slight delay," he adds. "New launch dates should be announced soon."
