The two Boeing 737-based Wedgetail airborne early warning and control system aircraft to undergo modification in Australia completed functional check flights last month. Boeing says the aircraft, one of which is pictured taking off from the Royal Australian Air Force's Amberley air base in Queensland, performed flights to verify the airworthiness of their structures and systems. The RAAF will receive six Wedgetails. Their introduction was delayed by more than three years due to development issues.
