Air France-KLM, Cargolux and Martinair have agreed to pay penalties in Australia for alleged price fixing.

The Australian Competition and Consumer Commission (ACCC) says in a statement that it has taken a case to the Federal Court seeking penalties from Air France-KLM, Cargolux and Martinair for alleged price fixing with regards to setting fuel surcharges on air cargo services for the period 2003-2006.

The ACCC says the Federal Court will decide the penalties but that Air France-KLM, Marinair and Cargolux have already recommended to the court that they pay A$6 million ($4 million), A$5 million and A$5 million respectively.

The case is due to be heard on 16 February, it adds.

This case comes after the Federal Court ordered Qantas Airways and British Airways to pay A$20 million and A$5 million respectively for price fixing of air cargo services.
