Bombardier commercial aircraft president Gary Scott has affirmed that 2013-2014 is "the sort of time period we're looking at today" for offering a stretched version of the Q400 turboprop.
During the ISTAT conference in Phoenix, Scott stressed that Bombardier has not made a commitment to this timeframe, and has not decided on an exact size for a stretched Q400, dubbed the Q400X.
But, he tells Flightglobal online news service Air Transport Intelligence: "I have no doubt we'll do a large Q400."
Bombardier has been studying a larger-capacity turboprop for years. "We will continue to refine our view of that with customers over the next couple of years," says Scott.
