Investigators have recovered the combined cockpit-voice and flight-data recorder from the Eurocopter AS332 Super Puma which crashed into the North Sea on 1 April.

None of the 16 on board the helicopter, which was transporting workers from an offshore oil field to Aberdeen, survived the accident off the eastern Scottish coast.

Grampian Police state today that divers have also recovered all of the passengers and crew from the wreckage.

The Air Accidents Investigation Branch says it has retrieved the recorder from the crashed helicopter, adding: "The recovery of other aircraft wreckage continues."

Few details about the circumstances of the accident have emerged but investigators have already disclosed that the crew transmitted a brief distress call before the helicopter's loss.
