Airliner net orders came in at only six for the month of February as 11 new orders were offset by five cancellations.

Leasing company AWAS placed orders for two Airbus A330s while Korean Air ordered two A380s. Venezuela’s Citgo Petroleum Corporation ordered two Bombardier CRJs while Czech ABS Jets ordered one ERJ-135. Singapore Airlines cancelled two A330 while Irish AerVenture cancelled two A320 family aircraft.

Airbus and Boeing both took in four orders for February. Bombardier won two orders and Embraer counted one for the month.

Widebody gross orders totalled seven for the month, led by three Boeing 777s. There was only a single narrowbody order in February, a 737 for Alaska Airlines. Regional orders came in at three with no cancellations. No turboprop orders were placed in the month.

Overall, the order backlog for airliner type of aircraft ended February at 8,334, down 91 on the previous month.

Note: The analysis is done on aircraft type basis and not on the user-end application. For example, Boeing 737 figures might include BBJs. The Bombardier CRJ type is classified as a regional jet and includes Challenger 850, 870 and 890.
