Canadian airframer Bombardier today confirmed a "recent" rise in production of its Q400 turboprop, but is declining to provide specifics of the increase.

Responding to a query from ATI today during a briefing at the Regional Airline Association convention in Salt Lake City Bombardier vice president of commercial operations Ron Williams said the airframer had just completed the production ramp up, explaining Bombardier would "see where the market goes" before deciding on a further rise.

The Q400 increase will support Bombardier's previously-disclosed estimate of increasing commercial aircraft deliveries by 10% for its current fiscal year over the 110 CRJ and Q400 aircraft delivered in the previous fiscal year.

Despite the 10% rise in commercial deliveries, Williams says Bombardier is sticking to its prior plans of a production cut in the CRJ700/900 lines.

He explains Bombardier is not breaking out production rate estimates between the CRJ and Q400.
