BREAKING: Air France transatlantic flight reported missing out of Brazil

Unconfirmed reports are indicating that an aircraft, possibly operating an Air France flight, has disappeared while travelling between Brazil and France.

The report, citing Paris airport officials, suggests that air traffic control lost contact with the aircraft - said to be transporting 215 occupants - off the Brazilian coast while it was flying from Rio de Janeiro to Paris Charles de Gaulle.

Schedule data shows that Air France uses Airbus A330s and Boeing 747-400s on the route, which is also served by Brazilian operator TAM.
