Rockwell Collins today launched the Core simulation architecture with a modular design to customize training between military and civil customers.
UK-based CTC Aviation Group will receive the first two Core-based full flight simulators late in the third quarter, says Rockwell.
The Core system was developed using technology gained from strategic acquisitions and internal investments, says Ken Schreder, Rockwell's VP and general manager for simulation and training solutions.
"We're brining all of this together, providing unprecedented flexibility and lower total cost of ownership," Schreder says.
The new architecture features software that can be adapted to multiple training devices, integrated tool sets and display and image generators.
