PARIS AIR SHOW: Onur Air launches new Thales support service

Turkish carrier Onur Air has become launch customer for Thales's new asset management services offering, which was formally unveiled yesterday during the Paris air show.

Under the new initiative Thales will not only support its own avionics equipment, but is expanding to cover a range of components from other original equipment manufacturers.

Thales's head of civil aerospace services worldwide, Daniel Malka, says: "This launch is an important step forwards in our ambitious after-sales support strategy, placing Thales firmly in the position of tier 1 service suppliers.

"Any operator can now rely on Thales's new asset management services offer to outsource the complex management of its avionics components."

Under the new plan, Turkish carrier Onur has extended its relationship with Thales by today signing a contract for the manufacturer to support its own, and other manufacturers', components on eight Airbus A321s - through asset management services including on-site inventory, repair management and return to inventory.
