Taiwan's TransAsia Airways plans to fly to 10 destinations in China from three Taiwanese cities once scheduled cross-straits flights are allowed.

From Taipei's Sungshan Airport, TransAsia says that it plans to have four weekly flights to Shanghai, three weekly to Hangzhou and Fuzhou, and twice weekly to Wuhan, Chengdu, Qingdao and Tianjin.

It will also have once-weekly flights from Taipei Taoyuan Airport to Shanghai and twice-weekly services to Changsha. From Kaohsiung, it will fly once weekly to Kunming and Dalian. From Taichung, it will fly once a week to Shanghai.

The carrier says that it will operate Airbus A321s on all of these services.

The services are due to a new agreement in April that allows scheduled flights between China and Taiwan for the first time since 1949.

This increases the number of passenger flights each week between China and Taiwan to 270 from 108. Until now, there have been only charter flights between Taiwan and China.

Both the Chinese and Taiwanese airlines are waiting for their respective civil aviation authorities to announce the start date for the services.
