Many potential users of unmanned air vehicles prefer the leasing of systems rather than purchasing them, says Israel Aerospace Industries. The company adds that El Salvador is negotiating the lease of its Heron UAV system.

An IAI Heron was demonstrated in the Latin American country earlier this year as part of a joint effort with the USA to fight drug traffic in the country.

Heron has an endurance of more than 40h at an altitude of 30,000ft and can carry multiple payloads with a total weight of 550lb.
