GKN First-half aerospace sales soared by 64% to $770 million ($1.3 billion) and trading profit jumped 68% to £79 million; underlying sales were up 5%, but the division was given a £169 million boost from the Airbus wing business at Filton that it bought in January, while currency movements added £105 million.

Military production looks solid for the second half and "significant" A350 programme momentum is offsetting Boeing 787 delays and 777 rate cuts.
