Canada may become Boeing/Insitu's first export customer for the Integrator UAS.

Canada signed a contract in May for Insitu to supply the ScanEagle as a surveillance service to Canadian troops, but the deal allows the firm to upgrade to the larger Integrator system as it becomes available, says Steve Sliwa, Insitu's president and chief executive.

The potential Canadian deal reveals that Insitu has designed both a commercial version of the Integrator and a version proposed for the US Navy/Marine Corps small tactical UAS/tier 2 contract, which is now in source selection.

Insitu has also revealed that the Integrator now features a 12.5lb sensor designed by Hood Technology. The multi-purpose sensor includes five payloads: electro-optical, infrared, mid-wave infrared, laser point and laser rangefinder.

The midwave imagery can also be combined into a composite view with inputs from the EO and IR sensors.
