PIA posts Q2 loss of Rs3.35bn

Pakistan International Airlines (PIA) has posted a Rs3.35 billion rupees ($40 million) loss for the three months ending 30 June.

In the second quarter there was a loss of Rs3.35 billion compared to a loss of 12.6 billion rupees the corresponding period last year, the national carrier says to the Karachi stock exchange.

Revenue rose 5% to Rs20.7 billion from Rs19.7 billion, it says.

PIA has posted several quarterly losses in recent times and has been speaking to the government about a financial aid package.
