SriLankan Airlines plans to launch twice-weekly services to Milan on 16 December.
One service will operate on the Colombo-Paris-Milan route, and the other on the Colombo-Frankfurt-Milan route, says SriLankan. It will use Airbus A330 and A340 aircraft on the services.
SriLankan says that more countries are expected to relax their travel advisories for Sri Lanka following the conclusion of the war with the Tamil Tiger rebels in May.
