Taiwan's China Airlines (CAL) saw August RPKs rise 5.6% year-on-year while capacity, as measured by ASKs, rose 2.5%.
The passenger load factor for August rose 2.5 percentage points to 83.4%, says the carrier.
Freight tonne kilometres fell 6.8% and available tonne kilometres fell 4.1%.
In July, CAL's RPKs fell 6.5% year-on-year and ASKs fell 1.5%.
For the first eight months of 2009, RPKs fell 7.7% and FRTKs fell 26.9%, the carrier adds.
