Thai Airways International's new president Piyasvasti Amranand has called on the struggling national carrier to be more dynamic, customer-orientated and cost-effective.
Piyasvasti says the loss-making carrier "must continue to cut costs, radically improve our operational performance and enhance the efficiency and returns of every division within the airline."
He says he "intents to lead the company with an emphasis on customer-orientated services that offer products and services that are aligned with customer demand and needs".
The new president also says he "aims to increase competitiveness so that Thai can deliver a better customer experience at a lower delivery cost".
Within two years, the carrier's fleet will have better seats and inflight entertainment, he adds.
Piyasvasti also says the airline must be more dynamic in terms of responding quickly to changes in the business environment.
He cites as an example the carrier's intention "to improve fuel risk management and strategy" so the carrier can respond and deal with volatility in fuel prices.
