Macquarie Airports' (MAp) flagship business Sydney Airport posted nearly 5 percent passenger growth in September but its three airports in Europe posted falls.

Sydney Airport's passenger numbers in September rose 4.9 percent to 2.79 million from 2.65 million with international passenger numbers up 7.3 percent to 868,000 from 809,000 and domestic passenger numbers rose 4.2 percent to 1.91 million from 1.83 million, says MAp.

Sydney Airport experienced strong growth from the New Zealand, China and USA but posted falls in traffic from Japan, Korea and India, it says.

In Europe, MAp's Copenhagen airport had a 6.9 percent fall in passenger traffic to 1.80 million from 1.93 million, Brussels airport fell 7.6 percent to 1.62 million from 1.76 million and Bristol airport fell 1.9 percent to 590,000 from 601,000, it says.
