NBAA 09: M7 opens burn test laboratory

M7 Aerospace (booth 962) has opened a burn test laboratory at its facility in San Antonio, Texas. The company says the laboratory will help it with certificating its own aircraft conversion and modification programs. M7 also plans to use the laboratory to support the engineering services it provides outside companies.

M7 is also expanding its engineering services capabilities through the acquisition of a handheld laser scanner that can scan large objects, including entire aircraft. The scanner gives M7, which began operations in 2003 after acquiring the assets of Fairchild Aircraft, the ability to reverse engineer components or aircraft which were designed before three-dimensional design software was available.
