Innocon cites market interest in Micro Falcon UAV

Israeli manufacturer Innocon has completed flight-test activities with its Micro Falcon unmanned air vehicle, and says it has received interest in the design from several potential customers.

Powered by a silent electric motor and with a 2h operational endurance, the Micro Falcon has a 2m (6.5ft) wingspan and a maximum take-off weight of 6kg (13.2lb), including a 1kg payload.

Innocon is promoting the design with Bental's 350g (12.4oz) MicroBat 275 payload, which integrates day and night cameras with precise zoom. Mounted beneath the air vehicle's fuselage, the sensor provides 350° coverage on its bearing axis and up to 200° on its heading axis.

Flight is performed in "camera-guided" mode, with a ground operator controlling the camera and the UAV positioning itself above an area of interest to deliver optimum results.

The bungee-launched Micro Falcon is recovered by parachute and lands on its back, with its "box-type" design dispersing the landing impact across the whole airframe.

"We anticipate sales in Europe, Asia and Africa," says Innocon vice-president marketing Michael Armon.
