Continental Airlines, which officially joined Star Alliance yesterday, has signed a codeshare agreement with fellow Star Alliance carrier Asiana Airlines.
Starting 15 December, Continental will place its code on Asiana's flights from Seoul Incheon to Los Angeles, San Francisco, Seattle, Tokyo Narita and Nagoya. says Asiana.
The South Korean carrier will place its code on 13 US domestic routes that Continental serves from the same date, it adds. These include Los Angeles-Houston, Los Angeles-New York Newark, Los Angeles-Cleveland, Seattle-Houston, Seattle-Cleveland and Seattle-Anchorage.
"With this codeshare partnership, Asiana now has the opportunity to expand its US domestic network to destinations such as Houston, Cleveland, Newark and Anchorage," says the carrier.
Continental officially exited the SkyTeam alliance on 25 October and joined Star on 27 October. Asiana's rival Korean Air is a SkyTeam member.
