China's Hainan launching service in November to Sudan

Hainan Airlines is launching a service later this month from Beijing to Khartoum in Sudan.

The twice-weekly service starts 20 November and uses an Airbus A340, says an airline spokesman.

Khartoum is the capital of Sudan, a political ally of China which has been working to develop trade ties with resource-rich Africa.

No other airlines operate on the route, according to Innovata.
