Australia's Tiger launching service to Rockhampton

Tiger Airways' Australian outfit is launching a service on the Brisbane-Rockhampton route.

The daily service starts on 28 March, says the airline, which operates Airbus A320-family aircraft.

Tiger will be competing on the route against A320-operator Jetstar, as well as QantasLink and Virgin Blue which operate Bombardier Q400s and Embraer 190s respectively, according to Innovata.

Rockhampton is a large regional city in the state of Queensland and it is north of Brisbane.
