Flight International cover competition 2009

Last year's winner was Begemont's spectacular image of a Russian air force Sukhoi Su-27 (top left) while the 2007 cover competition champion was boxer 03's Lockheed Martin F-16 (left). In 2008 we had great entries across the categories, including Photomotion's Spitfire and Gnat formation (right) and runlikehell's Lockheed Martin F-22 Raptor (middle)

For the third year running, we are offering the chance to get your best image on the front cover of Flight International, by uploading your images to Flightglobal's AirSpace galleries.

Last year we received more than 1,500 high-quality entries for the chance to adorn the front cover of our end-of-year issue, and this year we expect the competition to be closer than ever. Closing date is 6 December.

For 2009, we have the following four categories:

  • Big Birds
Big beasts are featured in this gallery, encompassing airliners, cargo aircraft and tankers.

Enter Big Beasts

  • Sleek Jets
From nimble and speedy fighters to the more refined biz jets, only the sleek jets need apply.

Enter Sleek Jets

  • Old Flyers
An affectionate hat tip to the rich tapestry of days gone by, this category is for the classics.

Enter Old Flyers

  • General Stars
This category is for the leading lights of general aviation and other images of aircraft from the lighter end of the spectrum.

Enter General Stars

The winner will receive a framed copy of their Flight International front cover and £100 cash.
