That sinking Gulfstream GV - case closed

The mail on the sunken Gulfstream GV has not stopped coming – but it does now appear that, even if the photos have been through Photoshop, the incident really happened.
We have seen  two separate accounts of the story which is said to have happened “recently” at Malcolm B McKinnon Airport on St Simons Island off the coast of Georgia USA.
Peter Fuerst says the landing-gear collapsed into a sink hole as it was being pushed in.
There is a knowledgeable account here and also on www.pprune.org, where it is said that the wheel, brake, tyre and door all had to be replaced.
And we have had plenty more stories of similar incidents, as well as confirmation that this kind of problem is well-known in the south-east USA.
Fascinating though it all is, we think the time has come to close the subject and move on. Many thanks for all your information.
