Emirates' decision to buy 10 Boeing 747-8 Freighters just months after dropping its order for the Airbus A380 Freighter was because the aircraft is more clearly defined and better suits its cargo needs. The Dubai carrier switched the order for two A380Fs held by its SkyCargo division to the passenger model. Emirates vice-chairman Maurice Flanagan says the airline "had not received a specification from Airbus on the aircraft". He adds that the 747-8F "is more defined, and it nose-loads, which is what we want".
