Queuing so long in the aisles for the lavatory may become a thing of the past thanks to the new washroom with integrated urinals developed by Dasell Cabin Interiors.

“Integrating two urinals in a single housing as well as a hygienic washroom without a lavatory will save passengers from queuing for as long as well as offering airlines more space for seating,” says head of business development, Norbert Runn.

“Depending on the aircraft, there are numerous toilets on board used by both sexes.  Men and women have different needs so our idea is to turn one or two of them into urinals, and another in to a wash room, without the toilet, allowing passengers to freshen up in a more hygienic area,” Runn says

“The module is combined in the cabin with conventional toilets, so they can be used by female passengers under improved hygienic conditions. This will greatly reduce queues and generally be more convenient. But aside that it allows more room within the aircraft, saving valuable floor space and allowing more space between rows or even allowing enough room for additional rows of seating.  This is a significant improvement in economic and also in ecological terms.” Runn says.
