German flag-carrier Lufthansa is to open a new all-business service to India, operating between Frankfurt and the city of Pune.
The route will be flown by Swiss premium-class charter specialist PrivatAir which will use Airbus A319 aircraft configured with 48 seats.
Pune, located southeast of Mumbai, will be served six times per week from 1 July. It brings to seven the number of Indian destinations on Lufthansa’s network.

Lufthansa says the expansion is in response to “dynamic economic development” in the country. Pune is a centre for the information technology, biochemistry and automotive industries and has strong German business links.
PrivatAir provides all-business flights on other Lufthansa routes including services to Newark, Chicago and Dubai.
