French all-business transatlantic operator L’Avion is claiming a load factor of 71% for the first three months of this year.
The carrier, which operates two 90-seat Boeing 757-200 aircraft between Paris Orly and Newark, carried over 13,000 passengers in the first quarter.
L’Avion has released the figures at a time when the all-premium transatlantic model is under scrutiny following the collapse of US carriers Maxjet and Eos.
The French airline claims load factor reached 78% in March and that the figures demonstrate that there is strong demand for the service.

L’Avion chief executive Marc Rochet says: “We exceeded expectations and we believe these results validate the measured strategy and growth of L’Avion, even in a challenging global economic climate.”
Figures submitted to the US Department of Transportation show that L’Avion was achieving load factors above 70%, and even up to 81%, during the second half of 2007.
L’Avion has not released any financial data.
