NBAA 2008: Citation 850 deal fuels growth for Eaton

Cessna has selected Eaton Corporation as the fuel systems supplier for the new, large cabin, intercontinental Model 850 Citation Columbus business jet. The contract is estimated to be worth $100 million over 20 years, and the first flight is scheduled for 2011.

As system integrator, Eaton will design, develop and manufacture the complete aircraft fuel system including the electric fuel boost pumps, ejector pumps, flow control valves for fuel transfer, the refuel/defuel sub-system and the fuel quantity measurement system.

Eaton is also supplying the hydraulic power generation system for Embraer’s Phenom 300 light jet program. The contract, estimated at $20m over the life of the program, includes the design, development and manufacture of the aircraft’s hydraulic power generation system.

Additionally for Embraer, Eaton is providing a total of seven sub-system packages on the Phenom 100 VLJ, which recently achieved first flight. The packages include the design, development and manufacturer of the aircraft’s secondary power distribution units and cockpit control panels. Eaton is also supplying the new aircrafts electronically synchronized flap actuation system.
