SIA to launch A380 service to Hong Kong

Singapore Airlines (SIA) will start using the Airbus A380 on one of its five daily Singapore-Hong Kong services.

The 471-seat A380 will replace one of the existing Boeing 777-300ER services, the airline says in a statement, adding that this represents a 10% increase in seat capacity on the route.

Cathay Pacific Airways is SIA's major competitor on the route and operates mostly 777s and Airbus A330s on the route.

SIA earlier this month deployed its A380s on the Paris route and also operates A380s to London Heathrow, Sydney and Tokyo Narita.
