			<h2>Air Transport</h2>
			<a name="award1"></a><h3>Award 1.  Product or technology</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> Airlines, aircraft manufacturers and civil aviation organisations which have made a significant contribution in the arena of commercial transport over the past 12 months or so can enter this category. Entries could include new aircraft programmes, innovative technologies aimed at providing passenger benefits, groundbreaking initiatives in airline operations, or industry-beneficial progress in regulation or infrastructure. 
			</p><p>
			The judges will be looking for genuine business achievement during the period; or technological innovation delivering, or with the potential to deliver, safety or economic benefits to the industry. They will take into account the different circumstances and challenges faced by different sizes of companies in different geographical locations.
			</p>
			
			<a name="award2"></a><h3>Award 2.  Person/Team</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> An individual or team of identified people who have displayed world-class professionalism either in the manufacturing or operating sector of air transport.
			</p>

			<h2>Defence</h2>
			<a name="award3"></a><h3>Award 3.  Product or technology</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> This category acknowledges the most prominent developments in all spheres of aerial warfare, including transport, surveillance and combat aircraft, missiles and weapon systems. Entries are welcome from operational units as well as airframe-, systems- and missile manufacturers. 
			</p><p>
			Key criteria will be genuine technological advancement and 'fitness for purpose'. The judges will take into account individual circumstances and challenges facing particular entrants, particularly when programmes are of widely differing orders of magnitude.
			</p>
			
			<a name="award4"></a><h3>Award 4.  Person/Team</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> An individual or team of identified people who have displayed world-class professionalism either in the manufacturing or operating sector of defence.
			</p>

			<h2>Business Aviation</h2>
			<a name="award5"></a><h3>Award 5.  Product or technology</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> This award recognises innovation in the business aviation sector and is open to operators, or manufacturers of aircraft, components or systems which have broken ground in, for example, the certification of new aircraft, introduction of new technology, or operation of aircraft.
			</p><p>
			Key criteria will be: clear benefit in terms of safety, economics or efficiency derived from technological or operational changes; genuine progress in the last 12 months or so; with a preference for innovation.
			</p>

			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> An individual or team of identified people who have displayed world-class professionalism either in the manufacturing or operating sector of business aviation.
			</p>

			<h2>Propulsion, systems and avionics</h2>
			<a name="award7"></a><h3>Award 7.  Product or technology</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> This award recognises breakthroughs in civil, military and space-related propulsion technology,  aircraft systems, and avionics. Entries might include complete engine programmes, auxiliary power units, hydraulics, more-electric aircraft systems, cockpit suites or technologies.
			</p><p>
			The judges will be looking for genuine achievement in the past 12 months or so even if the projects were several years in the making; technological innovation delivering, or with the potential to deliver, safety or economic benefits to the industry; and practicality of implementation.
			</p>
			
			<a name="award8"></a><h3>Award 8.  Person/Team</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> An individual or team of identified people who have displayed world-class professionalism in the manufacturing sector of propulsion, systems or avionics.
			</p>

			<a name="award9"></a><h3>Award 9.  Engineering Student of the Year (Sponsored by: Boeing)</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> The key criterion for this award is the impact, or potential for impact, of the candidate's work on current or future aeronautical or space technology. This impact might be seen in new or enhanced systems or processes or tools, new levels of performance, improved life cycle costs, new capabilities, or in other areas. The award is open to any full- or part-time engineering student in a program leading to a recognized academic degree such as BS, MS, or Ph.D.
			</p>
			
			<a name="award10"></a><h3>Award 10.  Publisher's Award</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> The Publisher's Award for Outstanding Contribution to Aerospace may be awarded at the publisher's discretion in order to recognise an individual's lifetime achievement in the field. External nominations in this category are not sought, although suggestions will be noted.
			</p>
			
			<a name="award11"></a><h3>Award 11.  Personality of the Year</h3>
			<p>
			<strong>Criteria:</strong> The Personality of the Year has historically been someone whose personal ability, and ability to draw out the best in others, has, in the previous year or two, resulted in fundamental change in the aerospace or aviation industries, or the creation of step-change products or practices, or the creation of business entities that demonstrably add value to the employees and customers of the industry.
			</p>
