A bit later than usual due to "Olympic disruption" but last week brought us another Week on the Web with many new interesting stories from our blogs...
Our Image of the Day blog carried a US Army shot of the 82nd Combat Aviation Brigade landing a Sikorsky UH-60 while paratroopers from the 82nd Airborne Division secure the area, in Afghanistan's Ghazni province (above). "Now why's it called a brownout?" wondered Dominic Perry.
And the same blog drew attention to a photo of a retro-liveried Air Malta Airbus A320 in AirSpace user Flightstar's gallery.
Defence blog The DEW Line highlighted footage of a Boeing CH-47 Chinook helicopter in action at the UK's Royal International Air Tattoo.
On Ariel View, Arie Egozi noted the Israel Defence Forces' internal strife over a follow-on order for Lockheed Martin F-35 fighters. "The generals in green (army) and white (navy) are ready for war, no less," wrote Egozi. "They know that their shopping list will be buried very deep if the second batch of F-35s is purchased."
