The Saab 35 Draken (Swedish: "kite" or "dragon") was manufactured by Saab between 1955 and 1974. The indigenous J 35 was an effective supersonic Cold War fighter that was also successful as an export product. Although out of service today, the Draken was influential as the first in a line of highly-sophisticated Saab fighters.
