“The Cosmic Muffin”

The Cosmic Muffin is the most unusual plane-boat, made out of the historic and rare aircraft the Boeing 307 Stratoliner. It was originally owned by the aviation pioneer Howard Hughes. He acquired the plane in 1939 named “The Flying Penthouse”as part of his purchase of TWA. David R. Drimmer and his company Planeboatshas extensively remodeled and rebuilt it. They named it “the CosmicMuffin” – a dream-boat from Jimmy Buffett’s novel.

    Dear Mr. Gladman;
    It is with sincere gratitude I would like to thank you for featuring my ‘planeboat’ COSMIC MUFFIN on Flightglobal.com. It’s an honor to be displayed on this prestigious site and I hope that your visitors enjoy discovering this unique and historic craft. People in avaition or who are enthusiasts recognize and appreciate the rarity and history of this converted plane and the best part of owning this vessel is sharing it with others. Again, many thanks for your kind consideration and interest.

    Warmest regards,
    Dave Drimmer
