Is that a refurbished F-18A or a F-18E?
My esteemed colleague Steve Trimble, who also writes The DEW Line blog (www.flightglobal.com/thedewline), informs me that it's a refurbished F/A-18A.
The E's aren't being delivered until next year.
Rgds,
Michael
Awesome picture.
Oh now that just brings back memories of the Cold War era scramble to get all the US aircraft including fighters into hangers every time a Soviet airliner landed at Keflavik, Iceland. Now they're ferrying them. Amazing how the world has changed.
