Not quite. The event at 20:17 GMT on July 20 was the LEM landing on the moon.
Neil Armstrong set foot on the moon at 02:56 GMT July 21st.

A very true thing is stated in this post I completely agree with it.It was Neil Armstrong because of whom we have reached these heights of success in exploring our natural satellite MOON.
