Stewardess retires after 50 years' service for Aloha Airlines

Ever feel like you’ve been doing your job forever? Well, you’ve probably got nothing on Patti Smart, who has just retired from her job as stewardess for Aloha Airlines after more than 50 years’ service.
Yes, 50 years.
Not surprisingly, things have changed in that time. “You’re supposed to have the same niceness, the same warmth, the same caring,” Smart said. “But it’s faster now.”

“Patti began flying for Aloha in an era when inter-island flights were longer and
attendants got to know their customers well,” said David A. Banmiller, president and
chief executive officer.
Her last flight, from Orange County, California, to Honolulu, on November 30, was
greeted by a crowd of well-wishers at Gate 50.
