Martin Gauss takes control at Malev

martingauss.jpgFormer Cirrus Airlines chief executive Martin Gauss has become the latest in a long line of executives to take the top spot at Hungarian carrier Malev

He has nearly 20 years' airline industry experience and has worked as a consultant at the airline for several months. Gauss succeeds Geza Fehervary, who has been acting chief since February and will now return to his role as chief operations officer.

Gauss says: "We will have to decide on a new course to navigate Malev through the current market crisis and make the airline fit to face the future. I am looking at a significant conversion and turnaround of Malev."

The 40-year-old German began his aviation career as a Boeing 737 pilot for Deutsche BA. He went on to become Deutsche BA managing director, overseeing the airline's integration into AirBerlin.

Dear Madam/ Sir

I live in Albania and I travel mostly with MALEV; but what I will write is very difficult.

My luggages were opened and stolen (jewleries, some gifts, etc); this was the most shameful thing from MALEV; I never said anything to the agencies when luggages were delayed, sent in different destionations, never said anything about parfumes thrown away to airports, airplane problems (the last time was when coming back from Sofia)...

but stealing in the luggages... this is very bad...

I have put complaints but nobody has taken care...

If you are not the right persons; can you forward any specific address...

I would really aprreciate..

thank you in Advance

Hi there,

Sorry to hear about your troubles.

We are an independent media company and have no affiliation with Malev. I can only suggest that you contact them to discuss the issue using the numbers on this link: http://www.malev.com/travelinformation/customer-support/contacts

Best wishes,

Victoria

You will not believe it Malev what poor service. The left my bag in London. When I asked them when would it arrive tey told me the next day if I was lucky. there is a flight in the evening why was it not put on that one. WhenI asked about money to purchase essentials they gave me a small back and said this is all that Malev gave out. So tonight I have go buy PJ's and shaver, foam and clothes for tomorrow
I will suggest to my travel agent NEVER to book Malev flights again.

Marco --you are not the only one to have bad service from this airline-----on a recent flight from sofia-budapest-london my bag was broken into(padlock taken)I presume by "security" and the bag searched---nothing taken but the bag was then put on a flight to london unsecured---no explanation was given. In addition we as transit passengers in budapest were subjected to a lengthy search process by some very GESTAPO LIKE security staff that took nearly one hour and I nearly missed my connection to london. No doubt the same security staff that broke into my bag!
I made a complaint to malev in budapest and received some standard letter with a lot of waffle but no offer to compensate me for this loss and inconvenience----a subsequent letter requesting payment for at least the replacement padlock has been unanswered-----so if you read this MR MARTIN GAUSS---get in touch with an offer of payment!
