"Singapore Airshow 2010 weathered the challenges of an unprecedented global economic crisis and has emerged with resounding success, further cementing its position as a must-attend event on the global aviation calendar," said Angelica Lim (pictured above), general manager, Aerospace & Defence Group, Singapore Airshow & Events.

"It continues to be Asia's largest and top three aerospace and defence exhibitions in the world."

Notable statistics of Singapore Airshow 2010 include:
• 43,459 trade attendees from 133 countries
• 62 of the top 100 global aerospace companies were represented
• 897 companies from 36 countries participated in the show
• 55% of the participating companies were from the defence sector and 45% were from the civil aviation industry - forming a comprehensive mix of exhibitors for the show
• 22 country pavilions
• $10 billion worth of deals and announcements

The show also attracted the largest high-level delegation groups with 259 government and international delegations from 80 countries over the four trade days.

"With the economy picking up, the Asia-Pacific is fast becoming the focus of growth, offering tremendous opportunities for the industry," said Lim.

"Singapore Airshow 2012 will continue to play a strategic role as an effective springboard for industry players to tap into Asia Pacific markets.

"Taking on the theme, 'Big Show, Big Opportunities', the show will demonstrate its commitment and promise to scale greater heights, deliver a holistic experience to all its participants, provide opportunities for strategic ventures and help our partners build their businesses in and for this region," said Lim.

More than 70% of Singapore Airshow 2012 exhibition space has been taken up at the close of Singapore Airshow in February 2010.

Singapore Airshow 2012 will also introduce two new pavilions - Unmanned Systems and Land Defence.

Singapore Airshow will take place at Changi Exhibition Centre from 14-19 February 2012.
