In recognising Clark for the honour, he is described as an “outstanding British business leader and premier airline strategist” who has opened up UK/UAE business opportunities. It follows a lengthy career with the airline which has seen it grow to become one of the top 10 biggest carriers since its launch in 1985.

The Queen has obviously been paying attention to the Airline Business annual strategy awards, as Clark was recognised in 2011 with the tenth anniversary Airline Business award – marking a decade of achievement.
